I have not done a lot of refilling the well this week, and I can feel it. I need to read more, relax more, listen more. I just got a new book to review. I’m hoping to be happily lost in that this week, and I have several new graphic novels and trade paperbacks that I’m going to be reviewing for Geekerella, so that should help as well.
I’m almost 4,000 words into Strike Force #1, my superhero romance series I’ll be self-publishing. I am going to be thankful for the 4K, instead of being annoyed that it should have been at the 10K word mark by now. Writing was hard, in general this week. I hate that.
We had three episodes of HIDDEN this week, as always, and I was surprised and pleased to learn via Twitter that there are HIDDEN fangirls! I’m still grinning over that. Next week has lots of action, some more Brennan/Molly stuff, and demons. Sounds like fun, eh?
Finally: I’m starting to work toward my goal of eventually writing comics, so when I saw that the site Thought-Balloons was looking for more female writers to add to their roster, I decided to try out. They’ll be selecting the new writer within the next couple of weeks. Anyone interested can check out my first attempt here.
As I’ve said, not a whole lot of well-filling this week. But I was reminded of this quote on Tumblr today, which was kind of perfect because one of the things I scrawled in my HIDDEN notebook when planning this season was this:
“Love liberates. It doesn’t bind. Love says. ‘I love you. I love you if you’re in China. I love you if you’re across town. I love you if you’re in Harlem. I love you. I would like to be near you. I’d like to have your arms around me. I’d like to hear your voice in my ear. But that’s not possible now. So I love you. Go.’” — Maya Angelou
